I have a strong IT background and have long been involved in digital photography. I'm also told I'm very patient! If these three things don't allow me to help you with understanding how to use your computer or Photoshop, I don't know what will.
In any learning situation it is important that pupils proceed at a pace that is comfortable for them, and that the teacher doesn't forge ahead, leaving pupils floundering. This is particularly so when learning how to use computer programs.
I can give basic tuition in the use of a PC or a digital camera or in the use of Photoshop to manipulate your images, but only to one or two people at a time. This way you can use your computer and have the benefit of me there as a guide, or to ask questions of when you get stuck. If you want help with getting the best from your images, let me know what is holding you back or where you are getting stuck, and I'll tailor my tuition to your specific needs.
My rate for tuition is £20 per hour.
From time to time I'll add some simple hints and tips on using Photoshop to my site. Here's one to get you started...
Try to familiarise yourself with the keyboard shortcuts for each of the tools you frequently use. For example, rather than using the mouse to guide the pointer over to the little magnifying glass icon and clicking on it, simply press the "Z" key and you've selected the "Zoom" tool. Want to crop your image? Press the "C" key. To find out what key is required for each of the tools, place the mouse pointer over that key and wait for the tool name to appear. When it does, the shortcut key will follow the tool name in parentheses. |
